Brighter Smiles For Your Child

At Gallatin Valley Pediatric Dentistry, it is our belief that the oral healthcare your child receives in childhood shapes their perceptions of dental experiences for life. Dr. Justin and Dr. Joni are committed to changing the way our patients view a visit to the dentist by reinforcing positive associations through the use of virtually pain-free laser dentistry. The benefits of Solea laser dentistry are for all of our patients, from newborns to teenagers.

Solea Laser Dentistry

Dr. Joni Richmond Stevens and Dr. Justin Stevens are the first pediatric dentists in Montana to use Solea in their practice and have since encouraged other dentists to learn this new technology.

Why a Solea Laser? It is the first FDA-approved CO2 dental laser for the treatment of hard and soft tissue. Solea operates at a unique wavelength of light therapy and works with an integrated computer system to deliver virtually painless dental procedures. Developed in the USA (Boston, MA) and based on research with the University of California School of Dentistry, Solea offers a unique experience from other lasers.

How Does Laser Dentistry
Benefit Your Child?

We are able to address most dental needs with laser therapy. This includes treatment of hard tissues (cavities) and soft tissue including infant frenotomies, biopsies, and gingival reconstruction, which are done with minimal to no bleeding. The ability for us at Gallatin Valley Pediatric Dentistry to offer blood-free and anesthesia-free procedures is significant progress in dentistry.

With Solea laser dentistry, we are able to provide multi-quadrant dentistry and/or soft tissue procedures in a single appointment. How does that benefit our patients? It means far less invasive treatment than using a traditional drill only, which makes healing time following a procedure shorter and means a lower risk of bacterial infection. Additionally, when patients are given a local anesthetic, they often leave the office with the numb feeling still affecting their soft tissues. With our ability to use laser therapy, your child will be able to leave our office without that numb sensation following the appointment.

Solea laser dentistry is truly changing what it means to go to the dentist.
